Torre is my last name and my first.

Victoria Rose Torre is a painter of the land, sky, sea and stars as they appear occult or profane. Her paintings attempt to understand what she calls biospirituality; the personal and universal mystery of living and non living things. The magic found among all natural subjects serves as her singular thesis: the present moment remains sublime; knowable but unintelligible. She considers herself one of many contemporary painters whose purpose is to digest the anthropocene and create meaning from it.

Using traditional oil and gouache painting processes, she simultaneously addresses her experience of the historicity of painting, activism, and metaphysics. She looks to facilitate a relationship between the viewer and the painting of which rejects the canon as a classist, imperialist, dusty and alienating rhetoric.
